Kern lasers lead the industry
in cut and engraving quality for wood
and plastic products.
I
recently added my
third
Kern laser! The largest machine has
an 80" x 120" work area. All three lasers
can handle a 4'x8' sheet size.
Lasers can
be used to cut a variety of materials.
Acrylic,
plywood, solid woods, mdf, foam and
fabrics
are common materials cut using lasers.
One key advantage to using a
laser is the width of the cut.
The beam of the CO2 laser
is approximately .006" diameter.
This allows for very sharp inside corners
which are not possible when using a router bit.
It also allows for very tight nesting
of parts with minimal material waste.
